Chapter 32

Desiree looked around the small cabin. I knew that it was perfectly fine for the two of them. There was more than another for them to have a place to sleep and a place to eat. She didn’t really expect too many luxury items because she had gone most of her life without them. She would find a way to be able to take a shower later or, if necessary, find a pool that she could swim in, like a pond or something. She knew that she needed to at least get some of the sweat off of her and she still felt relaxed enough because of the events of the night before. Though she wasn’t exactly thrilled with the idea that she had given herself to Gabriel so quickly, she knew that there were a lot of other factors that were involved. They were connected. She could feel the connection, even when he wasn’t there. It was surprising that now that she had known that it was there the entire time; she had to wonder about the things that she had felt. She never actually believed them, but at the same time you can’t live your life like that and not have it affect you. Most of the time she had felt completely alone, but at the same time she knew that she was extremely important in the grand scheme of things she just didn’t know how. She thought she would just have to prove everyone wrong with something that she could do. She never thought it would be because of something she had already done, be born and survive despite all odds.

All the skills that her mother had taught her were something that she was trying to figure out right now. She was trying to figure everything out in a way that could possibly be a little bit easier for her. It wasn’t as if she was a nobody, but she had more skills about running and being able to hide than most people did. Was that something she was always supposed to learn? Was it something that she was supposed to teach him as well?

The only thing that
